Self-service laundromat with washers up to 100 lb

Wash it yourself on Speed Queen machines from 20 lb to 100 lb. Open 7 AM to 9 PM every day on Main Street in West Warwick.

Self-service at Spin It

Self-service laundry at Spin It means you wash and dry your own laundry on our Speed Queen machines at 824 Main St in West Warwick. Washers come in 20, 30, 40, 60 and 100 lb. Dryers come in 30, 45 and 75 lb. You load them, you start them, and you fold at your own pace.

It's a good fit if you don't have a washer at home, if your family's week of clothes fills three baskets, or if you have something bulky that won't fit a home machine. Our biggest washers take 100 lb, so a king comforter, a sleeping bag or a dog bed goes in one load instead of three.

Come in when it suits you. Grab a folding table, get on the free Wi-Fi, and let the machines do the work.

How it works, step by step

  1. Pick a washer by size

Match the machine to the load. The 20 lb washers handle everyday clothes. Save the big ones for bedding and heavy loads.

  2. Load it and start it

Add your detergent, close the door, pay and start the cycle. Ask the team at the counter if you need help the first time.

  3. Move it to a dryer

Dryers come in 30, 45 and 75 lb. A bigger dryer gives heavy things room to tumble, so they dry evenly.

  4. Fold and head home

Use the folding tables or the counter with bar stools, then take everything home ready to put away.

How much does self-service laundry cost?

The price depends on the size of the washer or dryer you choose. Bigger machines cost more per load, but one big load can save you the time of running two or three small ones side by side. You can see the price for each size in the machine table on this page and on our pricing page.

What size washer do I need?

Use a 20 lb washer for an everyday load of clothes. Step up to a mid-size washer for towels, jeans or a full week of family laundry. Save the 100 lb washers for the big jobs:

  • King and queen comforters and duvets
  • Sleeping bags and camping blankets
  • Dog beds and pet blankets
  • Several loads of towels or sheets at once
  • A season of work uniforms or team jerseys

Leave some room in the drum. Laundry gets cleaner when it can move, so if you have to push the door shut, go one size up.

Which machines does Spin It use?

We use Speed Queen washers and dryers. Our 32 washers stand in rows on islands down the middle of the store, and every one runs a 23-minute cycle. The dryers are stacked, each with a blue sign that shows its size, so you find the right machine without guessing. $0.50 starts the dryer for 7 minutes (30 lb), 6 minutes (45 lb) or 5 minutes (75 lb); each extra $0.25 adds the same time again.

How do I pay for the machines?

Every washer and dryer takes coins and the Speed Queen app. The machines don't take cards, but you can pay cash or card at the register and we'll start any machine for you. The change machine takes bills, and two kiosks load cash onto the Speed Queen app. If it's your first visit, ask before you load up, and we'll walk you through it.

What else is at the store?

While your laundry runs, you can sit down, get online with free Wi-Fi or watch the TVs on the walls. Kids can play in the kids area, which has a chalkboard and toys. There are vending machines, a utility sink, and plenty of folding space at the tables and the counter. The amenities page has the full list.

When is the laundromat open?

The store is open 7 AM to 9 PM every day. Last wash at 7:45 PM. Closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and July 4. Self-service runs during store hours, so start your last wash with enough time left to dry it before we close. An attendant is on site whenever we're open.

Where is Spin It?

You'll find Spin It at 824 Main St, West Warwick, RI 02893, at the corner of Main Street and Phenix Avenue in the old Jerry's Market building. There's off-street parking right at the storefront, so heavy baskets don't have far to go. It's a short drive from Arctic, Natick and Crompton, and from nearby Coventry, Hope and Warwick.

What if I don't have time to wash it myself?

Leave it with us. Our wash, dry and fold service costs $1.29/lb: drop your laundry at the counter and pick it up folded. If getting to the store is the hard part, laundry pickup and delivery brings it to your door for $1.99/lb. And for a big bed cover, we wash comforters too: $19.99 with a pickup, or priced by item at the counter.

Questions people ask

What size washers do you have?

We have 32 Speed Queen washers in 20, 30, 40, 60 and 100 lb sizes, and dryers in 30, 45 and 75 lb sizes. A 20 lb washer suits a small weekly load, and a 100 lb machine takes a king comforter or a big dog bed. Every washer runs a 23-minute cycle.

Which washer size should I use for my load?

Use the smallest washer your load fits in loosely, with room for the clothes to tumble. As a rule of thumb, a 20 lb washer suits one person's weekly clothes. Mid-size machines handle family loads and towels. Save the 100 lb washers for comforters and bulky bedding. Ask the team at the counter if you're unsure.

How do I pay for the washers and dryers?

Every washer and dryer takes coins and the Speed Queen app. The machines don't take cards, but you can pay cash or card at the register and we'll start any machine for you. The change machine takes bills, and two kiosks load cash onto the Speed Queen app.

Do I need to bring my own detergent?

It's a good idea to bring your own detergent, especially if you have a brand you like. There are vending machines in the store, and the team at the counter can tell you what's in them that day. Bring dryer sheets too if you use them.

Is there room to fold my clothes at the laundromat?

Yes, there are roomy folding tables and a long folding counter with bar stools. You can fold straight out of the dryer, so your clothes go home neat and ready to put away. Big items like sheets and comforters are easier to fold on the tables than on a bed at home.
